Figure 25. Maneuvering Clearances at Doors.
NOTE: All doors in alcoves shall conform to the clearances for forward approaches.
Depending on the path of approach, diagrams (a) through (f) illustrate minimal maneuvering space depths and latch part clearances both for push and pull edges of moving, sliding and folding doors. (4.13.6).
Figure 25(a) Front Approaches - Swinging Doorways. Front ways to pull part of swinging doorways shall have maneuvering area that extends from the hinge side of the door to 18 ins (455 mm) minimal, 24 inches (610 mm) favored, beyond the latch side of the door and 60 ins (1525 mm) minimal perpendicular to the doorway.
Front methods to press side of moving doorways, if designed with both closer and latch, shall have maneuvering room starting at hinge side which stretches 12 ins (305 mm) minimum beyond the latch side of the door and 48 ins (1220 mm) minimal perpendicular toward entrance.
Forward approaches to drive part of swinging doors, if you don't loaded with latch and closer, shall have maneuvering area that is the same width as door opening and stretches 48 inches (1220 mm) minimum perpendicular towards the entrance.
Figure 25(b) Hinge Side Approaches - Swinging Doors. Hinge-side methods (a side approach toward the hinge side of the door) toward pull part of swinging doorways shall have maneuvering area that runs 36 inches (915 mm) minimum beyond the latch side of the home if 60 ins (1525 mm) minimum is provided perpendicular into the doorway or maneuvering room that expands 42 ins (1065 mm) minimum beyond the latch side of the door if 54 inches (1370 mm) minimum is provided perpendicular towards the entrance.
Hinge-side methods (through the part dealing with the hinge part) toward push part of moving doorways, in the event that home is certainly not designed with both latch and closer, shall have a maneuvering space of 54 ins (1370 mm) minimal parallel to the entrance, extending from the latch part to beyond the hinge part, and 42 ins (1065 mm) minimum perpendicular into the entrance.
Hinge part ways to push side of moving doorways, if loaded with both latch and closer, shall have maneuvering room of 54 inches (1370 mm) minimal parallel on doorway, extending from the latch part to beyond the hinge side, and 48 ins (1220 mm) minimal perpendicular to your entrance.
Figure 25(c) Latch Side Approaches - Swinging Doors. Latch-side approaches to the pull part of swinging doors having closers shall have maneuvering area that extends from the hinge part to 24 inches (610 mm) minimal beyond the latch region of the door and 54 inches (1370 mm) minimal perpendicular into the doorway.
Latch-side methods to the pull part of moving doorways, if not loaded with closers, shall have maneuvering area that expands from the hinge part to 24 ins (610 mm) minimal beyond the latch side of the door and 48 inches (1220 mm) minimal perpendicular into the doorway.
Latch-side ways to drive part of swinging doors which have closers shall have maneuvering space that runs through the hinge part to 24 inches (610 mm) minimum parallel towards doorway beyond the latch side of the door and 48 inches (1220 mm) minimum perpendicular into the entrance.
Latch-side methods to drive part of moving doorways, if you don't built with closers, shall have maneuvering space that expands from hinge side to 24 ins (610 mm) minimal parallel on doorway beyond the latch region of the home and 42 ins (1065 mm) minimum perpendicular into the entrance.
